Dear Friends

The management team of the SEA Working Group “interculturel” hired a coordinator on 1 September 2015. The Swiss-Chilean dual citizen Ricardo Serrano is now coordinating the services of “interculturel” in a 50% employment . Via this link you can find a portrait of Ricardo Serrano. The national SEA working group currently links around 30 ministries and institutions in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland and is a competency platform for intercultural cooperation, migration and integration issues.

Evangelical churches, ministries and training centres as well as interculturally active persons in Switzerland should get to know each other and work together. Thus, an intensive cooperation that reaches across different cultures will be made possible. Christians’ awareness of the worldwide migration movements and the challenges as well as possibilities involved will be raised. They will be motivated to reflect on their own Christian existence in this respect.

More Intercultural Church Cooperation in Switzerland

Around 50 persons from educational institutions, ministries and church associations from Western and German-speaking Switzerland met on July 1, 2015 at a round table in Berne to reflect on the future work of the SEA-AG “interculturel” task force and to develop project ideas. Led by Anna Degen and Matthias Ettlin, the table groups developed promising project drafts that must now be further developed and implemented.

The persons present on that day are jointly convinced that all of the churches in Switzerland require raised awareness for the topic of intercultural cooperation on the one hand, and on the other hand for the integration of immigrants in internationally or nationally oriented churches and congregations.

Thank you very much for your previous commitment and cooperation! We are glad that we can now coordinate the work better with Ricardo Serrano.

Kind regards,

Marc Jost Michael Mutzner
